Clothing
Please do not send your child to nursery in their best clothes. Although children are encouraged to wear aprons during messy play, their clothes may still get wet, stained or dirty during activities such as painting, water play, outdoor play and sensory experiences.
We recommend children wear:
- Jogging bottoms
- A T-shirt or sweatshirt
These types of clothes support children to develop independence skills. Clothes that are easy to pull up and down allow children to manage their own clothing when using the toilet, which helps build confidence and independence.
Cold / Wet Weather
Please ensure your child brings:
- A warm or waterproof jacket
- Hat
- Mittens
- Scarf
- Wellington boots
Children go outside every day whenever possible, as outdoor play is an important part of their learning and development. Appropriate clothing helps children stay warm and comfortable so they can enjoy outdoor activities safely.
Hot Weather
Please ensure your child brings:
- Sun cream
- A hat
These items help protect your child from sunburn and heat exposure during outdoor play. Staff will support children in applying sun cream where necessary.
Important:
Please write your child’s name on all clothes and belongings that they wear or bring to nursery. This helps staff return items to the correct child and prevents belongings from being misplaced.
